Sloane's Brick Rodeo recap: a full room
By Sloane Grichy-Kosman & Gary Kosman · · 3 min read

Gary (dad): We're back from Austin, and we're still smiling. Last week we told you Sloane was invited by the Women's Brick Initiative to present Fast Brix! at Brick Rodeo. This week we get to tell you how it went.
Sloane (10): There were more than 30 people in the room! It was so exciting to share the game with everyone!
Gary: I have to brag on her for a second: her presentation was flawless. She explained the game, walked everyone through a round, and handled the room like she'd been doing this for years. I was the proudest dad in Texas.

Then we played
Sloane: After I explained the game, we handed out bricks and did a real round. Three silly words, five minutes, go. And then it happened — the whole room started laughing.
"It was so much fun to see people giggling while playing the game. That's exactly what it sounds like when my family plays at home!"

Gary: That was the moment I'll remember. It wasn't polite convention laughter — it was the same delighted, slightly-baffled laughter we hear on our living room floor when we play before bedtime on school nights.
Thank you, Women's Brick Initiative
Sloane: The Women's Brick Initiative even posted about us on Instagram after the workshop. That was really cool to see.

Gary: Enormous thanks to the Women's Brick Initiative for handing Sloane the mic, and to everyone who showed up, sat down, grabbed a handful of bricks, and played. You made this trip unforgettable.
Sloane: We can't wait to see your builds!
Want to play at home?
Sloane: Fast Brix! is free on the App Store and Google Play. Play a round tonight and see if your family laughs the way our room in Austin did.
