A round looks like this

Penguin
Eating
Tacos

6 five-minute challenges to try tonight

Pick one. Set a timer. Build. Show. Repeat.

01

The 3-Word Build

Flip three random cards. Build what they describe in 5 minutes. Weirder combo = better build.

02

Two-Hand Rule

Only the bricks you can grab in one scoop. 5-minute timer. Build something that moves.

03

Color Lock

Pick one color. That's the only color allowed. 5 minutes to build a creature in that color.

04

Pass the Build

One prompt. Each player adds for 60 seconds, then passes. See what you end up with at minute 5.

05

Mystery Reveal

One builder, the rest guess what the 3 prompt words were. Hilarious when the build is… abstract.

06

Bedtime Brix

One quiet round before lights out. Calmer than a screen, faster than a story.

Frequently asked

What is a 5-minute LEGO challenge?
A short, prompt-based build. You get a silly idea (like 'Penguin · Eating · Tacos'), set a 5-minute timer, and build whatever that means to you with the bricks you already have. When the timer dings, you show what you made.
Why 5 minutes?
Long enough to build something recognizable. Short enough that nobody gets precious about it. The timer is the secret — it turns 'I don't know what to build' into 'go'.
What bricks do we need?
Whatever is already on the floor. A Classic box, a random bin, leftover Technic, even Duplo. The constraint is part of the fun.
Is this good for one kid alone?
Yes. Solo play works — the prompt gives the kid somewhere to start. Most families end up joining in once they see a round.
How is this different from a LEGO set?
A set has instructions and a right answer. A 5-minute challenge has neither. It's faster to start, easier to finish, and way funnier at the reveal.

The bricks are already on the floor.
