It started in the car on the way home from school.
By Sloane Grichy-Kosman & Gary Kosman
Sloane and Gary came up with the game idea in the car after school one day — a simple building challenge with a timer and silly prompts. That night they tried it out at home with Sloane's brother Josh. Everyone loved it.
They kept playing. And playing. The builds got wilder, the laughter got louder, and soon friends wanted in. That's when Sloane and Gary started wondering: what if other people could play this too — and share their crazy builds with one another?
"The constraint is the magic. Five minutes is short enough to be silly and long enough to be proud of what you made."
They spent the next year working on the app together, getting feedback from friends, family, teachers, and even a few luminaries in the LEGO universe. Every round of play-testing made the game tighter, funnier, and easier to jump into.
And now, here we are — a game born from a backseat brainstorm, built for anyone who loves to create, compete, and crack up at what five minutes of bricks can become.

Meet Pip

Pip the penguin is the friendly face of the game — a brick-loving little adventurer who cheers you on, sets the timer, and occasionally loses his glasses. He keeps the energy fun and kid-friendly without ever taking the spotlight off your building.
How we built the app
Neither of us is a traditional software engineer. We designed and shipped Fast Brix! together using Lovable, ChatGPT, and Claude to build the app itself. What started as a living room floor experiment came together in our spare time — and we get to do it as a team!
We can't wait to see your builds!!!
