Sloane is heading to Brick Rodeo — invited by the Women's Brick Initiative

Sloane (10): Okay, this is kind of wild to type. I got invited to present Fast Brix! — the LEGO game my dad and I made — at the Brick Rodeo conference in Austin, Texas this week!
Gary (dad): Sloane, I'm so excited for you! Both because I know you're gonna be an amazing presenter and because I know you're pumped about the water park at the hotel.
Sloane: Yes, the water park! And the indoor ropes course!
But back to Fast Brix!: The invitation to present came from the Women's Brick Initiative. They're a global nonprofit whose whole thing is inspiring and supporting girls and women who build with LEGO bricks. They run meet-ups and workshops all over the world, and they've been really nice to me.
Gary: For this year's Brick Rodeo workshop track, WBI invited Sloane to share her game during their workshop slot. Proud dad moment.
The details
- What: The Women's Brick Initiative workshop
- Where: Brick Rodeo · Austin, Texas
- When: Saturday, 10:00 AM
- Host: Women's Brick Initiative
Why this matters to us
Sloane: Fast Brix! started as a car-ride idea between me and my dad. Three silly words, a pile of bricks, five minutes. And then bam -- just so much fun. I'm excited to start sharing the game with others.
Gary: WBI has spent years telling girls, out loud, that this hobby is for them too. Having them hand Sloane the mic — at a regional LEGO conference, at ten years old — is just so special.
Sloane: I'm excited!!!
Coming to Brick Rodeo?
Sloane: Come play a round with me! I'll have bricks for you at the workshop. If you can't make it to Austin, you can play the game right now:
